Erasmus Plus at Centro San Luis: a Vocational Training with an international vision that opens doors to Europe
The Erasmus Plus programme has become a key pillar in the training of students and teachers at Centro San Luis. Thanks to this European initiative, every school year we open up new opportunities for our educational community to gain learning, training, and internship experiences in different European countries. The 2025–2026 academic year has already started with enthusiasm and commitment: we have held the first information meeting with students, and soon we will begin the selection process for those who will represent our Vocational Training with an international vision.
24/09/2025 - InternacionalizaciónErasmus Plus: our commitment to internationalisation
Centro San Luis has always understood that education cannot be limited to the classroom walls or the boundaries of a city. We live in an interconnected world where professional, linguistic, and cultural skills are enriched when students have the opportunity to learn in other countries. This is why, for more than a decade, our centre has been actively participating in the ERASMUS PLUS programme, promoting the mobility of both students and teachers.
ERASMUS PLUS is not just a scholarship project. It is a life-changing experience: it allows students to open up to the world, complete internships in European companies, discover new cultures, and strengthen their professional profile in an increasingly globalised labour market. For teachers, it is an opportunity to train, share methodologies with other schools, and bring home best practices that enrich teaching in our classrooms.

Mobility 2025–2026
The new academic year is already underway, and with it comes a stage full of excitement. With our vision for #InternationalVET, at Centro San Luis we have taken the first steps to prepare the ERASMUS PLUS mobility programme for 2025–2026.
Information meeting and selection process
Just a few days ago we held the student information meeting, where we explained the programme’s objectives, the opportunities available, the planned destinations, and the requirements to participate. The response has been very positive: dozens of students have shown interest in joining this experience, aware that it can become a turning point in their personal and professional development.
We now begin the selection phase, a transparent and rigorous process designed to ensure that each place is used to its fullest. We take into account academic record, motivation, and commitment, as we understand that the ERASMUS PLUS experience requires not only technical skills but also responsibility, maturity, and adaptability.
New destinations and challenges
Although we organise mobility programmes every year, no two are ever the same. Each year we discover new cities, new companies, and new challenges. For 2025–2026, we have prepared a wide range of destinations: countries with a strong tradition of hosting such as Portugal and Poland, and others that represent a new step forward in our international expansion, such as Malta, Slovenia, or Hungary.
Our aim is for students to have the best possible internship experience in European companies: to live in different work environments, face realities they might not encounter in Spain, and return with valuable learnings that will become an asset in their professional future.
Skills and international experiences
A Vocational Training with an international vision
In a global market, international mobility is no longer a luxury but a training necessity. That is why at Centro San Luis we encourage our #VET students to acquire skills that go beyond technical knowledge. ERASMUS PLUS is the ideal tool to strengthen transversal skills such as:
- Linguistic competence: functioning in environments where English or other languages are the main means of communication.
- Adaptability and resilience: facing new contexts and realities.
- Interculturality: coexisting with different ways of understanding work and life.
- Teamwork and leadership: integrating into companies with diverse dynamics.
This approach has made us a reference point in the Basque Country and in Europe, showing that Vocational Training can and must look beyond its borders.
Hundreds of San Luis students have already lived the experience
Every year, around thirty students from Centro San Luis have had the chance to complete their final internships in countries such as Ireland, Portugal, Germany, Malta, Italy, Austria, or Poland. Each story is unique, but they all share the same message: ERASMUS PLUS transforms the way students understand their profession and opens up new personal and professional opportunities.
“I came back with greater self-confidence, a better level of English, and the experience of having worked in an international environment. This allowed me to find a job more quickly in Bilbao and stand out in interviews.”
This is just one of the many testimonies we receive from students of Administration, Marketing, and IT. These stories are the best proof of the impact ERASMUS PLUS has on the real lives of our students.
Teachers also train in Europe
International mobility is not limited to students. At Centro San Luis, teachers also play a leading role in ERASMUS PLUS. Every year, part of our teaching staff takes part in training programmes in European schools and companies.
This means that not only do we send our students and teachers abroad, but we also welcome teachers from other countries interested in learning about how we work with the ETHAZI model, the innovation projects we are involved in, and how we apply active methodologies to prepare students for the future.
Thanks to ERASMUS PLUS, teachers from Portugal, Lithuania, Germany, or Italy have visited our classrooms to observe and share experiences. At the same time, our own teachers have travelled to cities such as Prague, Athens, Dublin, or Rome to train in conflict resolution, project-based learning, competences, new tools, and technologies.
Looking to the future
A renewed commitment every year
Although ERASMUS PLUS has become a tradition at our centre, each academic year we live it as if it were the first. Preparing new mobilities, opening the door to new destinations, and seeing the excitement of students and teachers as they grow professionally in Europe is always a unique experience.
The 2025–2026 academic year is full of opportunities. We are convinced that mobility is a driver of transformation, and that each student and teacher who participates comes back with a broader and richer vision of their professional future.
ERASMUS PLUS: a European project driving our education
We cannot forget that this programme is made possible thanks to the support of the European Commission, SEPIE, CONFEBASK, and AICE-IZEA, who fund and co-fund mobility projects. We are grateful to these institutions for enabling our students and teachers to live this unique experience.
In a context where labour mobility and international cooperation are essential, ERASMUS PLUS continues to be a lever of educational innovation that connects people, ideas, and cultures.
Future outlook
At Centro San Luis we believe that the future of Vocational Training necessarily involves internationalisation. Our commitment is firm: to continue increasing the number of places available, to diversify destinations, and to strengthen ties with companies and educational institutions across Europe.
We have already begun preparing for the 2025–2026 academic year, but our vision goes beyond. We want today’s and tomorrow’s students to proudly say that they studied at Centro San Luis, and that thanks to ERASMUS PLUS they had the opportunity to open their horizons to Europe.
